8th April FXTP Monday Market Update – Euro Defence Stocks go Ka-Boom! (Yes, I know.)

Back in the 80’s Frankie Goes To Hollywood sang ” War – what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!”

Clearly shareholders of European defence stocks in the last few years would probably disagree with the sentiments of Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Somehow I suspect that Holly Johnson and the lads from FGTH are unlikely to have any of their own investments in same said stock. However whilst the world has focused on Mag 7 US Tech stocks these European Defence Stocks have been printing record moves.

Thanks to those of you who joined us today. I should reiterate that the Monday Market Update is just that. A big picture overview of the markets, with a few ‘charts of interest’ thrown in. There are no trade recommendations, this is not a signal service, nor trade recommendations – just what I am looking at and interested in.

Today we covered; FX STAM, Rheinmetall AG ($RHM), SAAB AB ($SAAB_B), Leonardo ($LDO), and Invesco Aerospace & Defence ETF ($PPA).

We also covered the usual suspects: $DJIA, $NDX, $SPY, $RTY, $DAX, $FTSE, $N225, $WTI, $XAUUSD, $XAGUSD, $BTCUSD, $USD, $DXY, $JPY, $AUD, $CHF, $NZD and $GBP.

Have a great trading week, and I’ll see you next Monday at 1230.

Trade well,

Paul
