I’ve often preached and presented about the importance of ‘socialisation’ for Traders. We all know that trading can be a lonesome endeavour – spending all day listening to no-one but the voice inside your head and the inane continuous drivel from the major 24 hour financial news networks. It’s not healthy at all.
With the best will in the world your spouse, colleagues, friends and family don’t really understand what its like to trade. Regardless of your level of experience or your recent results its good to get out and share some war-stories with like-minded souls.
For the last five years I’ve run the London Traders’ Network where I basically provide 6 beer-calls a year (January, March, May, July, September, November) that give people a chance to get out from behind the screens and come along and have a chat with fellow traders. Over the years it allowed people to create peer-to-peer buddy networks with like-minded traders who’ve bonded over a couple of beers.
Our next social is this Wednesday 17th September and you can find the details here: London Traders Network September Social
So if you’re in Central London on Wednesday night why not pop along, say hello and have a beer. It’s all very friendly, relaxed and social. There’s no sales-pitch. Just make new friends over a beer.
Trade well,
Paul
